Mrs. Murphy’s Weekly Updates: Here

Covid Policy Updates: Starting March 7, mask wearing will no longer be mandatory. However, masks are still required in any KPS buses and in the nurse’s office. After spring break, the remote learning option will no longer be available.

Ms. Murphy

There should be no food, drinks, or phones in the Great Room. If you are caught with any of these, you will receive a minor. Also, there should be no ordering of food to campus without faculty approval. It should be dropped off at the security kiosk. A reminder not to open doors for strangers, they need to check in with security in order to gain access to the building

Dr. Hanna

All three divisions at Kent Place are excited to take part in celebrations of National Engineers Week! This year, the official week is planned for February 20-26, with KPS activities continuing throughout the month. Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, this week is dedicated to increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers. One of the goals is to give every child, everywhere, an engineering experience. To that end, we have fantastic activities planned for the Upper School. The festivities will kick off with a morning meeting announcement on Friday, February 18. For the first time since the inaugural year five years ago, the STEM Sisterhood Program will include all students in grades 1 through 12! This unique program pairs a younger and older grade, and these partnerships continue throughout their time at KPS. This year, the younger students will be digitally sharing their work in either their engineering or science classes with their older sisters, who will then respond and comment on their work. Our second annual student-led Hackathon will be held virtually on Saturday, February 26. Finally, on Thursday, March 10, students will have the opportunity to hear and interact with women with careers in various fields of engineering. We look forward to the celebrations!
