Mrs. Murphy’s Weekly Updates: Here

Mrs. Murphy

For 9th and 10th graders: We need parents to chaperone the upcoming dance on Saturday, February 5 from 7:30 - 10pm. Please ask yours if they are available! Starting on Monday, new COVID guidelines will go into action. Morning Meeting will once again be in the Great Room with all four grades at once! Seating charts will no longer be necessary. We are now able to safely welcome guests to events. Food will also be allowed at clubs and advisory, but please do not eat in the hallways or lounges. A majority of students will now be able to fit in the Dining Hall, and we will make accommodations in the Main Building for everyone else.

Ethics Bowl

Ethics Bowl has their first regional competition tomorrow! We have actively been preparing for the competition, so if you see an Ethics Bowler today, wish them good luck! There are currently no links to watch the competition virtually, but they will be provided via email ASAP.

GSA

Project Prism has been postponed. We will let you know as soon as we find a date to reschedule. Thank you to everyone who volunteered!

DEIB Task Force

We will have an open forum about representation in faculty and staff next Wednesday February 2nd! It will be held in the Great Room at 2:30. Please come!

Swimming

Swimming had 2 meets this week (GL and Cranford)! We won both of them and swam really fast! Next week we have preps & counties so be sure to wish any swimmers good luck!

Community Service

We have an upcoming back sale for Child Life, an organization of Child Life Specialists who aim to make children’s hospital stays as safe and stress-free as possible. Look out for an email with details on how to help!

Hackathon

The Hackathon will be taking place virtually on February 26 from 8am to 6pm. During the event, students have time to design and develop a coding project in a team of up to four people. In addition, attendees will be able to attend computer science workshops, participate in explorations of cutting-edge technology, and hear from guest speakers. Please remember to sign up on the google form!

Squash

The squash team recently won both of their matches against Blair and Oak Knoll. We have an upcoming match vs Blair on Friday, please come out and support if you can!
